On August 18th, 2020, Nintendo presented another Indie World Showcase, last one having been in March 2020. Many indie games were either announced for the Nintendo Switch next year, and a lot of them where even surprisingly announced to available as of right now! Below is a list of some of those games that I recommend you check out as soon as possible.
You may recognize the title as one of my Most Anticipated Games of 2020. This beautifully emotional simulation game about ferrying the dead, developed by Thunder Lotus Games, quietly sneaked into this Indie World Showcase with the reveal date of “Later Today”! Don’t forget to bring a buddy with you to play as the adorable kitty companion Daffodil.
If you’re as excited as I am to dive into this game immediately, you can get it here on the Nintendo Switch. Moreover, it’s available on all consoles and PC as well.
Takeshi and Hiroshi
Takeshi and Hiroshi combines the two worlds of puppet animation and Role Playing Game. It tells the story of two brothers and their daily life. The 14-year-old Takeshi, a game designer to-be, is creating a game for his weak little brother Hiroshi who always wants to play the next chapter of the game as soon as possible. As the game is still in the making, Takeshi has to improvise and secretly plays some of the monster roles himself.
Raji: An Ancient Epic
The story of Raji: An Ancient Epic begins with the start of a new war between the demons and the gods. Seeking to avenge their defeat in the last great war from a thousand years ago, the demons have challenged the gods who humiliated them and have invaded the human realm, threatening them with extinction. Amidst the chaos, as cities and fortresses fell, and as young children were abducted from their homes, a young girl named Raji is chosen by the gods to be the sole defender of the human race.

A Short Hike
Having played this game on PC and giving it a score of 8.2/10 in this review here, I can say that this relaxing game is definitely worth your time on the Nintendo Switch. It’s the perfect game to play whenever and wherever you go when you just need to unwind and fly around mountains.
What’s even more impressive about A Short Hike is the fact that it is created by solo indie developer Adam Robinson-Yu! It’s also on sale as part of the Indie World Sale right now.
Rediscover gravity and explore a beautiful Escher-esque world of impossible architecture. Geometry repeats infinitely in every direction, and falling down leads you back to where you started. Manipulate gravity to change your perspective and see the world in new ways. Master the rules of the universe and restore a barren world with vegetation and life.
