Xbox Games Showcase July 2020 Reveals More Footage for Tell Me Why and Everwild

The Summer Game Fest continues on with amazing new game announcements and gameplay previews. Last month was the The PlayStation 5 Future of Gaming Event, and now Xbox held their official show on July 23rd, 2020. During the hour-long presentation we got several world premieres and exclusive games from the slew of game company’s they’ve acquired as part of their Games Studios a couple years back.

All games in the video above will be available for both Xbox One and the new Xbox Series X, as well as Xbox Game Pass. There were two particular games I’ve been waiting to see more of that I’m happy were included today; Tell Me Why by DONTNOD Entertainment (Life is Strange) and Everwild, the new Rare IP. Below I’ll highlight what we know so far from both titles.

Tell Me Why

In this intimate mystery, reunited twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their special bond to unravel the memories of their loving but troubled childhood. Set in the fictional town of Delos Crossing, Alaska, Tell Me Why features a cast of intriguing, true-to-life characters and mature themes. As you interact with memories of the past, you will make choices that determine the strength of the unique bond that Tyler and Alyson share—and shape the future course of the twins’ lives.

Tell Me Why unfolds across three chapters, the first of which will release August 27th, 2020 on Xbox and Steam.

Not much was revealed in terms of gameplay for this title but we have a better idea on what the game will be about along with a beautiful new trailer. Furthermore, no release date was given. You play as “an Eternal as you explore and build bonds with the world around you.”, where “unique and unforgettable experiences await in a natural and magical world.”

In the trailer we see a group of people that can connect with nature, living side-by-side with the flora and fauna. In the last scene we even see them heal a fawn-like creature. My hope is that that means we don’t have to hunt these beautiful creatures which is often the case in exploration games like these.
